Photographer: Scott Hermanson • Title: Assistant superintendent • Course: Purpoodock Golf Club, Cape Elizabeth, Maine • GCSAA membership: Five years • The shot: Hermanson refers to this photo as "the calm after the storm," because he captured the image early on the morning after Purpoodock's annual member-guest tournament. He encountered the sunrise beaming between the tree branches near the club's practice putting green, which is just right of the ninth green and in front of the 10th tee. "I was hoping the picture would do justice to what I was actually seeing," Hermanson says. Rob Knott is the GCSAA Class A superintendent at Purpoodock and a 10-year member of the association. • Camera: iPhone 7
