74 GOLF COURSE MANAGEMENT 03.18 Kubota Tractor Corp. launched the RTV-X1120 utility vehicle models, designed for commercial customers who use the machines for heavy-duty work every day. The RTV-X1120 features a 24.8-gross-hp diesel engine that's ready for any job. The 3-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine provides extra acceleration and plenty of climbing power, the company says. The engine and VHT-X transmission furnish a top speed of 29 mph. With the increased speed comes an increased dynamic load, so the RTV-X1120 comes equipped with three- point seatbelts for safety. Kubota's X series was designed for comfort and convenience under tough working conditions, and the RTV-X1120 includes the style and creature comforts found in the RTV-X family. To help reduce operator fatigue during long work days, the RTV-X1120 features new shoulder restraints for the operator and passenger, ergonomically designed 60:40 split bucket seats, a digital dashboard display, fully hydraulic power steering, an easily accessible parking brake, and large under-seat storage compartments. The RTV-X1120 models are available in two colors, Kubota Orange or Realtree AP Camo. Options include machine-polished alloy wheels (standard on RTV-X1120D models only), optional black alloy rims, and a spray-on bed liner (available on all Steiner introduced its new Flex Deck articulating mowing attachment for Steiner 440 and new 450 tractors. The commercial attachment features four independent decks designed to follow the contour of uneven terrain. The Flex Deck boasts several significant improvements to meet the production and quality requirements of golf course superintendents and turf maintenance managers. First, Steiner has redesigned the center deck and belt driveline for fast and easy service, greater performance and longer belt life. The new arrangement offers tool-less access to the belt driveline — operators can remove and replace the deck belt by simply using the on-board utility bar to remove belt tension. New pulleys and belt drive geometry also contribute to cooler operating temperatures and longer component life. Additionally, the driveline increases blade torque to cut through heavier loads while maintaining fast blade speed for a quality cut. Anti-scalp features have been enhanced through the inclusion of anti-scalp discs beneath blade spindles and an additional roller on the discharge deck. Steiner has achieved quieter operation through strategic placement of rubber dampeners that eliminate any metal-to-metal contact. Like the original Flex Deck, the new attachment has an 80-inch cut, large-diameter casters and robust construction. Powered by the Steiner 440 or 450 tractor, the new Flex Deck's climbing ability and low-ground- disturbance characteristics enable operators to mow on sloped or soft ground. The "Quick-Hitch" interface of the Flex Deck allows for it to be exchanged for other attachments, such as Steiner's aerator or turbine blower, in just a few minutes and without tools. Part of the company's Pro Line series, Eagle Lite is the lightest, most durable picker in golf, the company says. It places less pressure and drag on the cart, which translates to greater maneuverability, faster ball picking and valuable time savings. The bearing-free Eagle Lite is 9 feet wide and holds 1,800 balls. The picker comes complete with a push bar and mounting bracket, 1 ¼-inch powder-coated steel framework, plastic baskets, nylon discs, solid-steel posts that help maintain level basket heights, and adjustable axle brackets. Optional white nylon discs are durable and ideal for ranges using soft-covered balls, as they won't scuff the finish from the balls. Other upgrade options include a five-gang model that's 15 feet wide and holds 3,000 balls, and a front-wheel package for more maneuverability. Visit Wittek Golf, www.wittekgolf.com.
