Caterpillar is expanding its outdoor power product line with the introduction of a portable inverter generator, the Cat INV2000 , the company's first inverter technology in its long history of power generation. Caterpillar engineers designed the Cat INV2000 with consumer usability features (such as an easy-start switch) along with professional performance and safety features, all of which make it a versatile generator for both contractor and recreational use. Caterpillar will also offer a parallel kit, enabling users to con- nect two INV2000 units together to double power output. The INV2000 produces 1,800 watts running and 2,250 watts starting — enough to power mid-sized power tools — and provides an ultra-clean power that will safely power the most sensitive electronics. Its fuel-efficient 79.7-cc overhead valve engine is EPA-certified, and at only 49 pounds, the INV2000 is portable and convenient to store. Visit Caterpillar, www.cat. com/portablepower.
