80 GOLF COURSE MANAGEMENT 10.17 (industry news) The Carolinas GCSA announced that Will Holroyd , superintendent at Musgrove Mill Golf Club in Clinton, S.C., is the recipient of its Distinguished Service Award, the association's highest honor. The 37-year GCSAA member will be honored at a special ceremony at this year's Carolinas GCSA conference and show, Nov. 13-15 in Myrtle Beach, S.C. Holroyd graduated from Clemson University in 1975 with a degree in horticulture and started as superintendent at Oconee Country Club in Seneca, S.C., the following year. In 1988, he came home to Clinton to help open Musgrove Mill, a new Arnold Palmer design on the banks of the Enoree River. There, he has hosted some of the biggest events in South Carolina golf, including two state amateur championships. Ewing Irrigation & Landscape Supply has made organizational changes aimed at better positioning the company for future growth while improving ongoing support for its more than 200 locations. These transitions include redefining and aligning Ewing's geographic divisions; the creation of a talent resources department focused on employee development and customer education; merging several shared financial services into one department; and combining the company's sales and marketing teams to strengthen its focus on business development. "Our new company structure is positioning Ewing for growth through increased support and resources for our customers, employ- ees and stores," says Douglas W. York, Ewing's president and CEO. "We have a tenured executive team leading our efforts and creating greater opportunities for our Ewing family of employees." Dow Chemical Co. has been honored with the Green Sports Alliance 's Environmental Innovator of the Year award. Dow worked with NatureBank, which Will Holroyd Dow Chemical Co.
