AmeriTurf and Performance Nutrition announced a distribution agreement in December 2015. AmeriTurf is a turfgrass specialty products distribution company based south of Dallas in Italy, Texas. Perfor- mance Nutrition, a producer of fertilizers, soil amendments and turfgrass specialty products, is a division of LidoChem Inc. and is based in Hazlet, N.J. Under the agreement, AmeriTurf will distribute Performance Nutrition's turf fertility and disease control products to the golf course and sports feld industries. Among the products available to golf course superintendents and sports turf managers are KaPre-RemeD8, KaPre-Exalt and Nutrol. Escalante Golf , a boutique owner and operator of high-end clubs and courses, acquired a controlling interest in 36-hole Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club in North Plains, Ore. Tiger Woods won the 1996 U.S. Amateur at the Witch Hollow course there. Integrity Golf Co. is now overseeing Frosty Valley Country Club in Danville, Pa. The long- term lease became effective Oct. 1. Integrity Golf manages 35 golf facilities in seven states. Arnold Palmer is among those who have played Frosty Valley CC. Troon and Callaway Golf teamed up to help raise awareness for early cancer detection during National Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October. As part of the effort, Callaway's Chrome Soft golf ball with Truvis Technology, normally marked in a red and white pattern, was instead pink and white and available at select Troon golf shops across the country. The American Society of Golf Course Architects announced its 2015 Design Excel- lence honorees. The recognized courses and their architects are: Atlantic Beach (Fla.) Country Club, Erik Larsen; Birnam Wood Golf Club, Santa Barbara, Calif., Mi- chael Hurdzan, Ph.D.; Glenview Park Golf Club, Glenview, Ill., Rick Jacobson; Griffth Park Golf Course, Los Angeles, Forrest Richardson; Independence Golf Club, Midlothian, Va., Lester George; The Lochmoor Club, Grosse Pointe Woods, Mich., Paul Albanese; Oaks Country Club, Tulsa, Okla., Bill Bergin; The Preserve at Boulder Hills, Wyoming, R.I., Robert McNeil; and Rockwind Community Links, Hobbs, N.M., Andy Staples. The PGA of America held its 99th annual meeting in November at PGA National Resort & Spa in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. Included in the event was the announce- ment of the creation of the Golf USA Tee Times Coalition, a formal partnership between the PGA of America and the National Golf Course Owners Association to drive compli- ance in support of guidelines established in 2015. The PGA of America Hall of Fame ceremony also took place at the gathering. The Class of 2015 inductees were Tommy Bolt, Ray Cutright, Michael Doctor, George Hannon, Charlie Sifford, Payne Stewart and Lee Trevino. Keith Hansen will receive the 2016 Joe Dey Award from the USGA. Hansen has served on the USGA's regional affairs committee and Mid-Amateur committee since 1989. During that time, he worked as a rules offcial at more than 80 USGA championships, including 10 U.S. Opens. A 2015 inductee into the Utah Golf Hall of Fame, Hansen was on the Utah Golf Association board of direc- tors for nine years, which included two years as president. Hansen will receive the award Feb. 6 at the USGA's Annual Meeting and Service Awards in San Diego. The Dey Award has been presented annually since 1996 in recognition of an individual's meritorious service to the game as a volunteer. Dey served as the USGA's executive director from 1934 to 1969 before serving as the frst commis- sioner of the PGA Tour.
