Kress did consulting work for the Packers at their famed Lambeau Field. In 1984, he purchased Westwood Country Club, a nine-hole course in Phillips, Wis. Mr. Kress is survived by his wife, Judith; and sons, Michael, Jon and Andrew. Stanley E. Lawson, 83, died June 1, 2019. Mr. Lawson, a 54-year member of GCSAA, served in the U.S. Navy before becoming golf course superintendent at Ruggles Golf Course in Aberdeen Proving Ground, Md. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, golfing and spending time with family. Mr. Lawson is survived by his children, Stanley (Dawn) Lawson Jr. and Linda C. (Kenneth) Friend; brothers, Stuart Lawson and Douglas Lawson; and grandchildren: Kenneth Jones III; Kenneth, Courtnei, Joseph, William and Miracle Friend; Sabastian and Samantha Mullins; and Izabella and Easton Lawson. Kenneth E. Zimmerman, 89, died July 9, 2018. Mr. Zimmerman, a 55-year member of GCSAA, studied photography at the University of Maryland, later joined the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany, then attended Grimes School of Business in Pocatello, Idaho, before becoming a ski instructor and mountain manager for 25 years. During summers, he worked on Sun Valley Golf Course in Sun Valley, Idaho, and was greens superintendent there until 2010 and helped the transition from nine to 18 holes. More recently, he was involved in the construction of White Cloud Golf Course in Sun Valley. He retired after 70 years of service in Sun Valley. Mr. Zimmerman is survived by his wife of 63 years, Roberta Grant Zimmerman; and son, Martin J. Zimmerman.
