According to Ashley, crews use push brooms (only used for this task on putting greens) in advance of walk-behind greens mowers that are also fitted with brushes. The double brushing stands up the leaf blades and results in almost twice the amount of grass removed from the greens, as opposed to using just greens mowers outfitted with brushes.
